EU PAY TRANSPARENCY DIRECTIVE

What happens if you don't comply?

The EU Pay Transparency Directive (2023/970) comes into force in June 2026. Companies that are not prepared face significant legal and financial consequences.

7 June 2026 — The clock is ticking

All EU member states must transpose the directive into national law by this date. Austria and Germany are finalizing their implementation laws. Companies with 100+ employees will be subject to mandatory pay gap reporting — with the first reports due as early as 2027.

What's at stake for your company

Financial penalties

Member states must establish effective, proportionate, and dissuasive sanctions. Fines can be significant and are determined by national law — potentially based on company revenue.

Reversal of burden of proof

If an employee alleges pay discrimination, YOUR company must prove it doesn't exist. Without documented, objective pay criteria, this is nearly impossible to defend.

Full compensation claims

Affected employees are entitled to full back pay including bonuses, benefits in kind, and interest. There is no cap on claims — and class actions by employee representatives are possible.

Reputational damage

Pay gap reports will be publicly accessible. A visible gender pay gap without objective justification damages your employer brand and makes recruiting harder.

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps to compliance

1

Setup

Define your job architecture, salary ranges, and evaluation criteria. Import existing HR data via CSV — guided by our setup wizard.

2

Analysis

Automatically calculate gender pay gaps by worker category. The system flags categories that exceed the 5% threshold (Art. 10).

3

Reporting

Generate compliance reports for authorities, works councils, and management at the click of a button — as PDF or Excel, aligned with Art. 9.

4

Remediation

Document remediation cases, track measures, and capture everything in an audit-proof log — ready for the next reporting cycle.

FEATURES

ACCESS CONTROL

Everyone sees exactly what they need

Nine roles ensure that sensitive pay data is only accessible to authorized personnel. The EU directive requires data protection — our system enforces it automatically.

Super Admin

Full access to all modules, settings, and user management across all entities.

HR Manager

Manages workers, compensation, hiring, and employee requests. Cannot access rule engine.

Compliance Admin

Manages analytics, reporting, remediation cases, and compliance configuration.

Compensation Analyst

Views analytics and pay data. Can manage compensation bands but not worker records.

Recruiter

Manages job postings and hiring compliance. No access to pay data or analytics.

Works Council

Read-only access to reports, remediation cases, and aggregate statistics. No individual pay data.

Legal Counsel

Article 12 of the EU Pay Transparency Directive requires that personal pay data is protected. Our role-based system ensures compliance by default — no configuration needed. Every access is logged in the audit trail.

Structured Reliability

GDPR Compliance

All compensation data is encrypted and stored in EU data centers. Role-based access control and full data portability ensure maximum data sovereignty.

EU Standards

Full coverage of Directive 2023/970: hiring transparency (Art. 5), right to information (Art. 7), reporting obligations (Art. 9), and remediation procedures (Art. 10).
